Do you know what really does piss me off more than anything in this whole entire world? Cruelty towards a sentient being who cannot fight back. A being, whether animal or human who is not able to speak out and fight back against its tormentors.

There are cases in the news every single day of animals or humans at risk who are subjected to the most horrific levels of cruelty. This simply must stop.

The monsters that perpetrate these acts are not always lone wolves or solitary and lonely people. They can often pass themselves off as functioning members of society. They can pass themselves off as cult leaders. Take Aravindan Balakrishnan. He lead a Maoist cult and morphed himself into comrade Bala. He conrolled, abused and beat his own daughter. Yet members of the collective STILL defend him. Isn’t it amazing how people can become blind to violence and cruelty in this day and age.

Aravindan Balakrishnan found guilty.
Katherine Lemansky, 45, from North Carolina, shot to notoriety as she cruelly duct taped her dog’s mouth shut to silence it and then posted boastful pictures of her cruelty on Facebook! Thankfully she was charged by police, but as yet, her animals remain in her position. Not good! However she appears in court on 14th December so we can hope she is suitably punished for what she did.

Woman stupidly tapes dog’s mouth shut.
We see knee jerk reactions and people expressing the desire to do violent and horrible things to the perpetrators. Do we not need to stop and think for a moment that violence begets violence and that is never the answer. Instead, we must be the change we wish to see in this world. We must be a voice for the voiceless ones.
